Hi there, friends! Shoutout to all of you wonderful people who made it out to the Drake’s Tap Takeover in Anaheim last week! The Iron Press fam had a great time pouring for you and cheersing with you all. Next up is a doozy! Our Flight of Darkness has returned, and it’s bigger and better than ever. All of you dark beer lovers, prepare yourselves! We’ve been saving these specialty kegs from breweries like Ballast Point, Firestone, and The Bruery just for this night. So, save the date: February 3rd, 2015 A.D. from 5:00 to 10:00 P.M. at our Costa Mesa Location. As usual we’ll have some scrumptious food specials available, and DJ Lex will be spinning for everyone’s boogy shoes. Stay tuned for the lineup that’ll be getting everyone toasty next Tuesday! 4 Sons Brewing Lineup

Alright guys, our lineup for Tuesday’s Tap Takeover with 4Sons Brewing is here! On January 6th, 2015 A.D. from 5 P.M. to 10 P.M., 14 of our taps will be flowing with these tasty beers from the boys down the street. Ranging from their outstanding IPA ‘The Great One’ clocking in at 9.9%, to their brand new Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout on Nitro, they’ve put together quite the list for your enjoyment! Don’t forget to grab a glass of our collaboration brew either – a cinnamon stick infused version of their ‘Going (Coco) Nuts’ amber ale.  A big shout out to beerandbaking.com for this beautiful picture.

Mike Hess Brewing Lineup and Menu

Alright peeps, the day has arrived quickly but we are more than ready to have a great time with all of you. Today is a special day for our Anaheim location in The Packing District because we were lucky enough to get Hess Brewing to bring us some of their super tasty brews all the way from San Diego. You may have never heard of Hess Brewing and that’s ok, because after tonight you will never forget the name. With beers on tap ranging from there 5.8% Claritas Kolsh to there 10.2% Umbrix Rye Imperial Stout, you can experience quite the range of brews. You may tear up because your glasses will empty so quickly, but not to worry, we will be there to fill it up again and again. (P.s… Food Items may be different than listed in menu above)

 

Claritas – Kolsh Style Beer – 5.8% ABV / 28 IBU

Light, Crisp, refreshing. Very sessionable.

 

Oktoberhess – Marzen Beer – 5.9% ABV / 29 IBU

A Delicious Pale Lager with a crisp, refreshing taste in the style of an oktoberfest beer.

 

Jucundus – Orange Honey Wheat – 6.0% / 34 IBU

Orange blossom honey and real orange peel make this wheat beer a summer favorite.

Hess 12-14MY OH MY, Thank you to everyone who helped make Portola and Friends tap takeover one of the drunkest yet most hyper events we have ever hosted. Lets not forget to give all 16 breweries and Portola Coffee Lab a round of applause, they made the night one we will never forget. Like all great things, they must come to an end ( until next year ), so now we focus on our next event which of course involves MORE BEER. Mike Hess Brewing Company from classy San Diego CA will be overhauling 10 of our taps in the Anaheim Packing District on Dec 23rd 2014 A.D to cap off our year of amazing events. So grab your friends and family and give them the best christmas gift of all, MUCHO BEER!

Menu for Tonight’s Tuesday Tap Takeover – Portola and Friends

The second portion of our Portola and Friends food special is finally in. For this savory entree we reached out to a local brewer that has a passion for getting fancy with food. Dustin Dufresno is part of 4Sons Brewing in Huntington Beach and has stepped away from the hops for a day to bring you this out of the box dinner. Sriracha infused pork belly waffle tacos; thats right, pork belly on a waffle. This will be topped with house made vinaigrette slaw, chopped bacon, fresh cilantro, and a side of sriracha aioli. This event is going to be HUGE, involving about 18 different breweries that have infused Portola Coffee into a beer of their choice to create the best coffee beer possible. Did you see our Facebook and Insta BLACKOUT?! Not anything out of the ordinary at The Iron Press.. except this time it was on for a couple days and thousands of peeps saw it.  We are looking for all of you to come out tonight and drink up all the Goose Island!  We brought in some barrel aged beer that tastes as yummy as yesterday’s Thanksgiving dinner.  Chef Andrew and Chef Mina came up with some Black Friday fixin’s for today to pair with these rich and powerful beers.

1. Grilled Chicken BBQ Burger – Grilled chicken with pepper jack cheese, fried onions, lettuce + tomato served on a waffle

2. Peanut Butter Wookie – Peanut butter waffle cookie served with vanilla ice cream and a Bourbon County Stout Glaze.
